Milan MK7
The Milan MK7 is the latest evolution of the race-proven Milan design.
The Milan's low-drag profile was carefully shaped and measured through rigorous scientific flow tests by aerodynamicist Eggert Bülk. The MK7 update retains the Milan's ability to achieve high speeds with very little energy:
- 28.2 mph (45.4 km/h) at 116.5 watts
- 31.1 mph (50.0 km/h) at 134.5 watts
- 34.1 mph (54.8 km/h) at 158.0 watts
- 37.3 mph (60.0 km/h) at 185.0 watts
Milan SL vs. Milan GT
The Milan SL is optimized for smaller riders with a slightly narrower body and a low ride height.
The Milan GT is slightly longer and wider than the SL to make room for medium and large-sized riders.
Milan MK7 Updates
- Front Service Access Panel:
A new panel at the bow of the velomobile makes routine maintenance easier - Rear Wheel Arch:
The new wheelhouse shape minimizes resonances and transmits less noise inside the velomobile. The new shape makes room for 1x12 gear systems and cassettes up to 52 teeth. The MK7 can now accommodate 584 wheels. - Rear Suspension and Storage:
The MK7 Milan uses the proven DF / DFXL swingarm and rear suspension. A new horizontal bulkhead was designed to provide the appropriate suspension mounting points. The new bulkhead also provides room for light storage with convenient access. - Rear Derailleur Hood:
The MK7 update leaves more space for a wider selection of rear derailleurs. - Floor reinforcement:
A completely new spar system creates more space for longer people. The floor pillar system of the MK7 provides enough space to move the seat further back
Safety
The Milan is designed to protect the rider in frontal impact, lateral multiple overlaps and rear impact scenarios. What's more, the extremely rigid tail section protrudes above the head to reduce the risk of injury in a roll-over.
Everyday life
A teflon chain tube protects chain and the pulleys, preventing dirt and small items from being caught by the chain.
The adjustable visor offers excellent visibility in the rain and in the dark. A small opening creates airflow to the inside of the visor to prevent fogging. The visor is relatively steep, which helps visibility even in case of wetness and glare. When you need immediate visibility, the visor can be easily pushed upwards to open from the inside.
