Kurt Kinetic R1 Wheel-Off Trainer

For those of you who INSIST on a wheel-off trainer, this is our recommendation. It's reactive, has a great feel to it, it moves left and right, is accurate, and portable. It can also operate in standalone as a non-electronic trainer, just providing a ramp of load.

We like the Kurt Kinetic because it has the most stable base available, it can be anchored to the floor, it has the easiest axle-locking mechanism, and it's also the safest locking mechanism; your bike will NOT fall out of the trainer under load!

Perhaps most importantly, IT STILL HAS A WIRED CABLE OPTION!!!! You can use a Printer USB cable, which will eliminate any lost data signals (which can be the bane of any inside ride!).

The flywheel is 12-lbs, so the inertia required to spin up is real. It also transmits in Bluetooth BLE and FE-C Ant+. This machine has it all!!
